Rite Aid trip 6/26

**Don't forget to "Like" my facebook page to be entered into a giveaway! Details here**

Here is what we got at Rite Aid Sunday: (1) Coppertone sunscreen, (1) box Veet wax strips, (4) Stayfree Maxi pads, (4) O.B. tampons, (5) Old Spice deodorants, (1) Secret deodorant, (2) Excedrin pain relievers, an (2) Crest toothpastes

How much did we pay?  Subtotals before taxes were $1.41 and taking into account retail prices we saved a total of 97.5%!!!  And we left the store with $28 in +up bucks (store credit) to use next Sunday!

I have the receipts in front of me and I would give you more of a breakdown of how we did it but we had such a rough time at checkout it is confusing.  We used a store that was not our regular Rite Aid (we were out of town) and the cashier did not understand coupons.  At one point she needed to manually put in a coupon and the subtotal started going up!  We had to void two transactions and start over, it was a disaster.  After we got home we realized two of our 75 cents off coupons did not get used, it was just so complicated.  Still we did great and we will not be going back to that Rite Aid.

I will explain how I got the sunscreen though.  The Coppertone sunscreen was on clearance for $5.24.  I had a store coupon for $1 off and a manufacturer coupon for $1 off.  You are allowed to pair these for a single item so I got the sunscreen for $3.24 and used +up bucks from a previous trip to cover the rest!  I have done this several times this summer and it has been wonderful not paying $8 or more for a single bottle of sunscreen.

Make sure to always go by the clearance section when you are shopping.  If you don't have your coupon notebook just jot down what you see and the prices, then check for coupons when you get home.  You can find some amazing deals this way.  Most people over look the clearance sections so don't worry if you don't grab it on the first trip, chances are it will be there when you are headed back that way in a day or so.

  1. I am excited about beginning couponing. We went grocery shopping the other day and had the smallest bill ever. I saved a few things to buy at CVS on Sunday. We are going to get a N & O to see if it is right for us and visit CVS that day. Also I want to look around and see a copy of All You before I commit to buying. The website though looks really cool. I have never been to the rite aid either and do you get the most deals at one or the other (compared to CVS) or does it depend on the sales and you get about the same. I am excited about saving $$$$$$!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!

  3. Hi Stacey! Sorry the comment section does some strange things on blogger! I'm glad you are getting some good info from the site. I have been told Wal-Mart sells All You magazine but I have yet to see it there. Rite Aid has less limits so you can get more product and they also have more store coupons than CVS. You really can get great deals at both so I don't have preference to one or the other. Good luck shopping!

  4. ok, silly question but I need help. What does it mean when it says limit of 4 like coupons in one shopping trip? Like you can only use 4 coupons in one transaction or you can apply that coupon when buying 4 of the same products.....50 cents off cleaner and you buy 4 cleaners meaning you get $2 off altogether....thanks! So excited got the news and observer yesterday, looked through that, visited Rite Aid for the first time and got wellness card and printed off coupons at scanner at CVS. I am starting to like my new hobby. Thank you for all the helpful info!

  6. Stacey, sorry this reply took so long. I am unable to comment from my laptop for some reason. But limit 4 like coupons means you can use 4 of the same to purchase 4 products in a single transaction. So you are correct if you had 4 0.50 off coupons you and you purchased 4 items it would be a total of $2 off
